Gain & Threshold

The Gain setting adjusts the signal strength injected by the Touch Controller into the Touch Sensor. Values range from 0 to 7.
Thicker glass screens and larger Touch Sensors require a stronger signal (higher Gain value).

The Threshold setting adjusts the sensitivity level of what is considered a touch. Values range from 0 to 50.

How to adjust Gain and Threshold

  1. Set Gain to the lowest value (0) and wait 2 seconds. Note: Every time the Gain value is changed you need to wait 2 seconds before you can touch the screen (a ‘do not touch’ message will flash for 2 seconds).
  2. Touch the display, increasing Threshold until achieving good touch performance. Drag the touch and continue to increase Threshold until dragging is continuous across the whole Touch Sensor, thoroughly testing both the center and borders of the Touch Sensor. When the drag color changes, it means touch detection has been lost.
  3. Once Threshold reaches the maximum value (50), and a good touch performance has not yet been achieved, increase Gain by one value and repeat step 2.
  4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 as necessary until you achieve a good touch experience.

Note: Once good touch performance is achieved, but you still notice false touches, please check the Shield feature.
