DISPLAX Active Object Recognition (DPXActiveOR) is a complete solution combining hardware and middleware to enable developers to create next-generation interactive experiences that go far beyond traditional OR systems.

With Active OR, displays can detect, identify, and respond to multiple powered tags, each with a unique ID and advanced feedback options. The solution is fully integrated with the DISPLAX Service API, ensuring flexibility for interactive application development.

The DPXActiveOR Solution Includes

  • Active OR Tags – powered tags with internal battery

  • Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) Add-on – connects to the Skin Ultra controller

  • Wireless Charger – enables seamless recharging of tags

Main Features

  • Visual feedback – integrated ring light

  • Haptic feedback – vibration motor

  • State reporting – in_range and in_contact detection

  • Wireless charging – convenient power management

  • Multi-tag support – up to 6 active tags simultaneously

  • Scalability – up to 84 paired tags per system, each with a unique ID

  • Data availability:

    • Tag reports (position, rotation) via TUIO and DISPLAX Service API

    • Fixed IDs for active tags (not managed via TUIO, as they connect directly to the controller BLE add-on)

  • Advanced control via API:

    • Customizable light and vibration effects

    • Joystick mode

    • Other extended interaction features

  • Simultaneous input – tags and normal touch gestures work together seamlessly
