Calibrate Multiple TILE Units

How Do I Calibrate Multiple TILE Pro Units Using Drag Mode?

When building a Displax TILE Pro video wall, video wall calibration mode relies on the operating system detecting a single, unified display canvas. Thefore, if your setup uses extended desktop mode or has non-standard aspect ratios, video wall calibration is not available.

In these scenarios, you must use Calibration Drag Mode. The process is identical regardless of how many TILE Pro units you have. For this guide, we will use a 4-column by 1-row (4x1) video wall as our example.

Step 1: Configure Displax Connect

We strongly advise calibrating your units systematically, starting from the furthest left screen and moving right.

  1. Select the TILE Pro: Open Displax Connect. In the left panel, locate the list of Touch Controller serial numbers and select the first TILE Pro unit you want to calibrate (e.g., the far-left screen).

  2. Open Calibration Menu: Click on the CALIBRATION tab.

  3. Set Parameters: * Select the appropriate Display from the dropdown.

    • Select Drag Mode.

    • Select Rectangle (this is usually selected by default).

  4. Initiate: Click the CALIBRATE button.

Step 2: Draw the Calibration Area

Once you click Calibrate, all connected TILE Pro displays will show the calibration screen. You must now use your computer mouse to define the touch area.

  1. Use your mouse to draw a rectangle within the active display area of the specific TILE Pro you are calibrating.

Drawing the calibration area using Drag Mode. Notice the adjustable nodes on the corners and the required 3 to 5 cm black border inside the display's active area.

  2. Adjust the Rectangle: You can manually adjust the drawn shape using the mouse controls on the rectangle's vertices and corners. You can:

    • Move the entire rectangle.

    • Adjust size vertically or horizontally.

    • Adjust size diagonally.

    • Rotate the rectangle.

Important Drawing Rules:

  • The calibration area must be smaller than the TILE Pro's active display area.

  • Ensure the rectangle leaves a black border of 3 to 5 cm around the inside edge of the display.

Step 3: Execute Touch Calibration

Once your rectangle is perfectly positioned:

  1. Press the Space bar on your keyboard to lock the area and start the touch calibration.

  2. Verification: Ensure all 4 touch targets are entirely visible inside the display. If they are cut off, press the Escape (Esc) key to abort and redraw your rectangle.

  3. Touch the Targets: Follow the on-screen instructions, starting with target number 1. Touch and hold your finger directly in the center of the target. Do not move your finger.

  4. Wait for the green circle to complete, release your finger, and move to the next target.

The active touch calibration sequence. Press and hold the center of target 1 until the green circle is fully drawn before moving to the next target.

Step 4: Repeat for Remaining Units

Once the first screen is complete, simply repeat the entire process for the next unit: Select the next TILE Pro serial number in the left panel of Displax Connect -> Go to Calibration -> Choose Drag Mode -> Draw the rectangle -> Press Space -> Touch the 4 targets.

Select the next TILE Pro unit's serial number from the left panel to repeat the Drag Mode calibration process for the remaining screens.
