Devices Compatibility

Do DISPLAX touch products require drivers or DISPLAX Connect to work?

All DISPLAX touch products are HID (Human Interface Device) compliant, which means they do not require any special drivers to operate.

As long as the operating system supports standard HID devices, the touch sensor will work immediately after connection.

HID Compatibility Explained

  • DISPLAX touch controllers present themselves as standard HID devices

  • Touch input works natively with the operating system

  • No driver installation is required on the target system

✅ This applies to all DISPLAX products

Why Is DISPLAX Connect Needed Then?

DISPLAX Connect is not a driver.
It is a configuration and tuning tool used to:

  • Calibrate the touch sensor

  • Adjust Gain, Threshold, Shield, Palm / Massive settings

  • Update firmware

  • Perform diagnostics and testing

💡 Except for DISPLAX Skin MESH and DISPLAX TILE, DISPLAX Skin products are not factory-calibrated, because every installation has different variables (glass thickness, air gap, EMI environment, enclosure, etc.).

Can DISPLAX Connect Be Uninstalled?

Yes.
After calibration and configuration are complete, DISPLAX Connect can be uninstalled.

All settings — including:

  • Calibration data

  • Fine-tuning parameters

  • Touch behavior

are stored directly on the touch controller, not on the computer.

Supported Operating Systems

DISPLAX Connect is compatible with:

  • Windows

  • macOS

  • Ubuntu

⚠️ Android support is available only in older DISPLAX Connect version 3.10 and is not supported in current releases.

Using DISPLAX Products on Unsupported Operating Systems

If your target device runs an OS not supported by DISPLAX Connect:

  1. Perform calibration and fine-tuning on any supported OS

  2. Disconnect the touch controller

  3. Connect it to the final device/operating system

✅ The touch sensor will work normally
✅ No recalibration is needed
✅ Settings remain intact

Important Technical Notes

  • DISPLAX Connect should not be left running during normal operation, as it may reduce touch performance

  • Always complete calibration before deployment

  • If touch behaves unexpectedly on a new system, verify:

    • Proper grounding

    • No USB signal issues

    • Correct firmware version
