Configure LAN Communication

Configure LAN Communication

To set up LAN communication for managing your videowall, follow these steps:

  1. Access Communication Settings:

    • Navigate to the [Communication Settings] section of the software.
    • Select the [LAN (Network)] option to enable network-based communication.
  2. Check Device Support:

    • Ensure the connected videowall devices support LAN communication.
    • Verify that the devices are connected to the same network as the controlling computer.
  3. Search for Devices:

    • Use one of the following methods to detect devices:
      • Default Search (Broadcast Mode):
        • Select Default Search to broadcast a request across the current LAN.
        • The connected devices will automatically return their IP information, indicating they are available for connection.
      • Specific Search:
        • Use Specific Search to detect devices based on a specific IP range or port number.
        • Enter the relevant network segment (e.g., 192.168.x.x) to locate devices manually.
  4. Select a Device:

    • After the search, a list of detected devices will appear.
    • Choose the device you wish to connect by selecting it from the results.
  5. Save the Configuration:

    • Once the desired device is selected, click [OK] to save and complete the LAN communication setup.
  6. Verify the Connection:

    • Test the connection by performing basic control tasks, such as changing the input source or adjusting settings.

Notes:

  • Ensure that the network is configured correctly and is free of connection restrictions (e.g., firewall blocks).
  • If using Specific Search, confirm the IP address and port settings match the target device.
  • For troubleshooting, check network cables, switch connections, and device network settings.
