Displax Painter

This feature provides more data than other testing mechanisms and is conveniently integrated into the DISPLAX Connect software.
Depending on the PC specifications and the Skin product that you have, there are some features that may not be present, namely:

  1. Pressure report (Feature not available in Skin Fit and Skin Dualtouch)
  2. Touch coordinates
  3. Number of touches (Skin Ultra: up to 100 touches; Skin Fit: up to 40 touches; Skin Dualtouch: up to 2 touches)
  4. Multiple devices input
Note: macOS will only work with a single touch due to limitations of the operating system.
To access this feature, click on the Displax Painter icon in the upper right corner of Displax Connect, or hit the keyboard key ‘C’.



Available controls:


  1. Line thickness selector for DISPLAX Digital Whiteboard Markers (Red)
  2. Line thickness selector for DISPLAX Digital Whiteboard Markers (Black) (DISPLAX Digital Whiteboard Markers are only available for DISPLAX SENSE)
  3. Finger Touch Test
  4. DISPLAX Digital Whiteboard Markers Test
  5. White Canvas
  6. Black Canvas
  7. Auto Clear button
  8. Pressure representation (only available on Skin Ultra)
    1. ‘Windows’ represents pressure between 0~1024;
    2. ‘Linux’ represents pressure 0~1;
    3. ‘MacOS’ pressure is not represented.
  9. Clear Screen
  10. Close Displax Painter
  11. Touches: Number of touches being reported, i.e. “Touches 2 / 24”, means that 2 touches are currently being recognized, from a total of 24 touches already reported since the last “Auto clear” or "Clear Screen".

When touching the Touch Sensor area, the first five touches  will  be  represented with their respective identification, coordinates, and pressure representation, if enabled.
In Displax Painter, pressure is graphically represented with a thinner or thicker line depending on the pressure applied over the touch sensor.

In Displax Painter, pressure is graphically represented with a thinner or thicker line, depending on the amount of pressure applied on the touch sensor.


Displax Painter (previously known as "Touch Test") version 1.13 and later accepts input from multiple devices, distinguishing device inputs with a code – the first two digits as the device ID, and the remaining digits refer to the Touch ID identification number (the number of devices input is conditional to the type of product. Skin Dualtouch can only report two devices since it is limited to report two touches).


Notes:
  1. Pressure is not supported in macOS and only the mouse is recognized.
  2. If Touch Injection is disabled when using multiple devices simultaneously, one of the devices won't have touch – Touch should be enabled on all devices before you enter Touch Test.
  3. When starting Touch Test after multiple touches have been detected, possibly due to high levels of EMI noise, a warning will be displayed. (This does not apply to Skin Dualtouch which only reports up to two simultaneous touches).
