DISPLAX Skin Mesh is delivered laminated on glass, eliminating lamination steps. However, proper mechanical and electrical integration remains essential for long-term performance and stability.
Unlike film-based sensors (Ultra / Fit), Skin Mesh does not have a separate tail.
The FPC (Flexible Printed Circuit) exits directly from the sensor and must be handled carefully.
Handle the glass using clean gloves
Do not apply pressure to the active area
Never lift or carry the unit by the FPC
Store flat before installation
Before installation, inspect for:
Glass cracks or chips
FPC damage
Connector deformation
Since the sensor is integrated into glass:
Ensure the display frame supports the glass evenly
Avoid point pressure or uneven mounting tension
Prevent frame torsion or structural bending
⚠️ Mechanical stress on the glass can impact touch accuracy.
The FPC exits directly from the sensor and is a sensitive electrical connection.
Do not sharply bend the FPC
Respect the minimum bending radius
Avoid routing near sharp metal edges
Do not trap or compress the FPC between mechanical parts
Provide strain relief near the controller connection
Ensure the FPC is not under tension once installed
⚠️ Damage to the FPC is permanent and may result in loss of channels or total failure.
Skin Mesh includes XTR-Shield™ Plus for enhanced noise resistance. However:
Proper grounding of metallic structures is still required
Keep controller and cables away from:
Power supplies
LED drivers
High-current lines
Use shielded USB cables
Good grounding improves long-term stability.
Install in a ventilated location
Keep away from heat sources
Avoid placing directly against high-EMI components
Ensure easy access for maintenance
Confirm FPC routing is stress-free
Verify connectors are fully seated
Check grounding continuity
Ensure no metallic parts contact exposed traces
Perform full-surface touch testing
Close DISPLAX Connect after configuration
Re-test after final enclosure assembly
