Internal Videowall Processor
Daisy-Chain Setup Using Internal Videowall Processor
DISPLAX TILE includes an internal videowall processor that allows multiple TILE units to be merged into a single display.
In this configuration:
-
TILE units are DisplayPort daisy-chained
-
TILE units are also RS232 daisy-chained
-
The layout is configured using Screen Control Software
-
The Operating System detects one screen per daisy-chained group
Daisy-Chaining Resolution Behaviour
All connected displays in a daisy-chain group share a maximum resolution of 4K (3840 × 2160), regardless of the number of monitors connected.
This means:
- The final merged resolution cannot exceed 3840 × 2160
- The resolution needs to be scaled to match the intended aspect ratio
Example Setup (6 × 1 Video Wall)
Example layout:
-
6 TILE units
1 row × 6 columns
-
Portrait orientation

Each TILE resolution:
1080 × 1920
Total resolution:
6480 × 1920
Optimal resolution: (scaled)
3840 × 1138
Maximum Units
Operating System Behavior
When using daisy-chain mode:
- The OS identifies all connected TILE units as a single display
- Configuration is simplified
- Individual monitor control at OS level is not available
Software Requirement
To merge screens and configure the video wall:
RS232 daisy-chain is mandatory for proper screen identification and merging.
