Laminating with MIX and Squeegee

Laminating with MIX and Squeegee

Lamination Method

Use this method to properly adhere the Displax touch sensor to the glass using the MIX solution and “squeegee 2.”

Preparation

  • Use “squeegee 2” only for lamination (do not reuse from cleaning)
  • Confirm the touch sensor is already aligned on the glass and covered with MIX solution

Lamination Steps

  1. Follow the arrow directions shown in Fig. 14

    • Start from the center, working toward the outer edges

Fig. 14 – Squeegee direction guide

  1. Pull the squeegee:

    • From the center upward (arrow 1)

    • From the center downward (arrow 2)

    • From the center outward, left and right (arrows 3 and 4)

💡 Always pull from the center out — this helps expel the MIX evenly and prevents air bubbles.

Keep the Foil in Place

  • Have someone hold the edges of the sensor/glass

  • This prevents shifting or wrinkling during the process

Inspect for Dust and Particles

  • Check under the foil for:

    • Air bubbles

    • Dust or fibers

    • Misalignment

If you detect contamination:

  • Gently lift the affected area of the foil

  • Wet your fingers with MIX

  • Use a the finger or microfiber cloth to remove the contaminant

✅ Reinspect to confirm the surface is clean. If so, continue lamination.

Repeat 3 Times

  • Perform the lamination process three times

  • Increase pressure slightly with each pass of the squeegee

  • This will expel the remaining MIX and ensure firm adhesion
