Lamination

Tools and Materials


Here we demonstrate how to laminate a Displax touch sensor foil on glass.

Please be sure to test all touch sensor foils before lamination, as described in the previous chapter.

Two people are required to perform the lamination. Care must be taken to avoid creasing or tearing the sensor.


Before starting the lamination, ensure you have the following resources:

1. Distilled or bottled water

2. Johnson's Baby shampoo, pH5.5

3. Liquid sprayer - 2 units - Two liquid sprayers are required:

  • One for distilled or bottled water
  • The other with 90% distilled or bottled water mixed with 10% Johnson's baby shampoo

4. Squeegee with rubber blade - 2 units - Two good quality squeegees are required:

  • one for cleaning the glass “squeegee 1”
  • the other for laminating the touch sensor “squeegee 2”

5. Cotton, lint-free cloth – e.g: Vileda professional: Microfiber cloth

6. Retractable knife
