RS232 Commands and Protocol Reference

DISPLAX TILE supports control and configuration via RS232 communication.

RS232 can be used for:

  • Power ON / OFF commands

  • Input source selection

  • Brightness and OSD control

  • Videowall configuration commands

  • Integration with third-party control systems (Crestron, AMX, etc.)

RS232 Technical Documentation

For the complete list of RS232 commands, syntax, and communication parameters, please refer to the official command reference sheet:

👉 RS232 Command Reference Sheet

This document includes:

  • Command structure

  • Hexadecimal format

  • Parameter descriptions

  • Response format

  • Communication settings

Default Communication Settings

Before sending commands, ensure your system matches the correct serial settings:

  • Baud Rate: 9600

  • Data Bits: 8

  • Parity: None

  • Stop Bits: 1

  • Flow Control: None

Always verify the correct COM port when connecting via the included RJ45-to-RS232 adapter.

Important Notes

  • TILE units must be powered ON for RS232 communication.

  • For videowall configurations, units must also be RS232 daisy-chained.

  • When using Screenc Control software, RS232 connection is required for screen mapping and merging.

  • Only use certified serial adapters for reliable communication.

Integration Recommendation

When integrating with third-party automation systems:

  • Test commands individually before deployment

  • Confirm command acknowledgement responses

  • Label each TILE ID correctly in videowall setups

If you experience communication issues, verify:

  • COM port assignment

  • Serial adapter drivers

  • Correct baud rate configuration
