Connecting the Skin Ultra Sensor to the Controller

Connecting the Skin Ultra Sensor to the Controller

Overview

A proper connection between the touch sensor's FPC cables (flex) and the touch controller (PCB) is essential to ensure optimal touch performance.

Each FPC cable has a specific connector port on the PCB. Ensure cables are fully seated and correctly aligned before locking the connector.

FPC Cable Connection

Follow these steps to connect the flex cables securely:

  1. Open the Connector Lock
Raise the connector lock into a fully vertical position (90º), perpendicular to the touch controller board.

  2. Insert the FPC Cable
While holding the controller steady, insert the FPC cable horizontally, making sure it's perpendicular to the open lock.

  3. Insert Fully
Push the cable until it stops at the back of the FPC connector.

  4. Stiffener Lock Engagement
Gently pull the cable slightly backward until the little tabs on the stiffener lock into position.

  5. Close the Connector Lock
Press down on the center of the connector lock to close it. Ensure the stiffener is perfectly aligned with the lock on both sides.

❗ If the stiffener isn’t aligned or the cable isn’t centered, repeat the process. Misalignment can result in connection failure.
