DISPLAX Skin works with Android

DISPLAX Skin works with Android

Overview

DISPLAX Skin Ultra, Skin Fit, and Skin Dualtouch work out of the box with Android, with no additional drivers required, provided the Android system meets the necessary requirements.

Once connected and supported by the operating system, touch input is automatically enabled.

Android Requirements

Touch functionality will be available if all of the following conditions are met:

  • Linux kernel version 3.10 or later

  • Kernel compiled with HID multitouch support

  • Android device supports USB HID touch input

If any of these requirements are not met, touch input may not be recognized by the Android system.

DISPLAX Connect for Android

DISPLAX also provides DISPLAX Connect for Android, which allows:

  • Touch controller configuration

  • Diagnostics and testing

  • Advanced tuning

Summary

DISPLAX Skin touch sensors are natively compatible with modern Android systems. As long as the kernel and HID multitouch support are present, touch functionality works.
