DISPLAX Skin Works With Linux
Can DISPLAX Skin touch sensors be used with Linux?
Yes. DISPLAX products work with Linux, provided the operating system includes a HID multitouch driver.
DISPLAX products behave like other standard USB HID devices (such as keyboards, mice, or USB cameras). If Linux has the appropriate driver support, the touch sensor will function automatically.
Linux Requirements
For DISPLAX Skin to work correctly on Linux:
DISPLAX does not provide or manage Linux HID drivers, as these are part of the operating system itself.
About DISPLAX Connect
-
DISPLAX Connect is not a driver
-
It is a configuration and calibration tool for the Touch Controller
-
DISPLAX Connect is available only for a limited number of operating systems, but DISPLAX sensors work on any HID-compliant machine.
👉 Always check the supported operating systems list before installing DISPLAX Connect.
Summary
As long as Linux includes HID multitouch support, DISPLAX touch sensors will work out of the box. DISPLAX Connect is only required for configuration, tuning, and calibration of the sensor, not for actual touch functionality.
