Unpacking

How do I safely unpack Ultra & Fit touch sensors?

Why unpacking matters

Unpacking may seem simple, but improper handling can cause damage that impacts the next steps of installation. Following the correct procedure helps avoid complications.

Step 1: Inspect the tube before opening

Before unsealing the tube, check for signs of:

  • Crushed edges

  • Tears or punctures

  • Broken seals

⚠️ If you notice major damage or signs the tube has been opened:

Step 2: Prepare a clean unpacking environment

For best results:

  • Work in a well-lit, dust-free, static-free area

  • Use a flat surface at least the size of the sensor

Required tools

  • Box cutter (to cut the tape cleanly)

  • Flat table or surface

Step 3: Unpacking procedure

  1. Use the box cutter to carefully cut the tape around the cover

  2. Remove the tube cover

  3. Remove all contents except the touch sensor

  4. Carefully unroll the sensor over the flat surface

  5. Before removing the Touch Controller, expel the air from the inflated protective pouch

Handle all components with care to avoid bending or creasing the sensor.

Storage Recommendations

  • Unpack and store the sensor flat as soon as possible

  • Do not store inside the tube for more than 3 months

Handle all components with care to avoid bending or creasing the sensor.
