After successfully calibrating multiple Displax TILE units in extended desktop mode, you might notice that touching one screen moves the cursor on a completely different monitor.
This happens because Windows does not automatically know which physical touch sensor belongs to which visual display. To fix this, you must explicitly associate each touchscreen with its corresponding monitor using the Windows Tablet PC Settings.
Before starting the mapping process, ensure the following:
Calibration is Complete: You have already calibrated your TILE units in Displax Connect.
Extended Mode is Active: Windows is currently set to Extended Desktop. (Press the Windows Key + P and select Extend).
Keyboard Connected: A physical external keyboard must be connected to the PC. You will need it to skip any non-touch displays.
The process to map touch screens is identical in both Windows 10 and Windows 11. This sequence will cycle through all connected monitors, allowing you to identify which ones support touch.
Open Control Panel: Click the Windows Start Menu, type Control Panel, and open the application.
Navigate to Tablet PC Settings: Click on Hardware and Sound, and then select Tablet PC Settings.
Start Touchscreen Setup: In the window that opens, find the Configure section and click the Setup... button.
Identify Each Screen: Your monitors will turn white one by one, displaying a prompt. You must respond to each monitor in sequence:
If the prompt is on a Displax TILE: Tap the screen physically with your finger. This maps the touch to that specific display.
If the prompt is on a regular monitor (Non-Touch): Press the Enter key on your connected keyboard to skip it and move to the next screen.
Complete the Setup: Repeat the process in Step 4 for every connected monitor. The setup overlay will close automatically once all monitors are accounted for.
Test and Restart: Test the touch input on each TILE to ensure it registers on the correct screen. Once verified, restart your computer to permanently save the mapping configuration.
Best Practices & Troubleshooting
This procedure works for any multi-monitor configuration, regardless of how many touch or non-touch displays are connected.
If the touch still behaves incorrectly after completing the steps, simply click the Setup... button and run the sequence again.
You must repeat this entire process if you: Change monitor cable connections, update your graphics drivers, reinstall Windows, or physically rearrange the monitors.
