Connecting the Touch Controller to the Sensor

Overview

For a good connection between the touch sensor cables (FPC/Flex) and the touch controller (PCB/Touch Controller Board), ensure they are well and correctly seated inside the FPC connector ports before closing the Connector locks.

Each FPC cable has its corresponding connector port on the PCB.

Connection

PCB's manufactured from 2023 onwards, have a different design, so in order to ensure a proper connection, proceed as follows:

FPC Cable Connection

1. Open the Connector lock all the way up, into a vertical position - perpendicular to the Touch Controller board.

2. Hold the Touch Controller Board with one hand, then using the other hand, insert the flex cable into the FPC connector horizontally, perpendicular to the open Connector lock.



3. Insert it fully until it stops against the back of the FPC Connector.



4. Gently pull backwards on the flex, until the notches on the Stiffener section lock into place.



5. Lock the flex into the FPC connector by applying pressure in the middle of the connector lock when closing it. Ensure the flex stiffener is perfectly aligned with the connector lock on both sides.
If not, repeat the procedure.

Verify whether the spacing between the FPC connector and the flex is the same on both the left and right sides:
