Safety Instructions for Touch Controller (PCB)

DISPLAX touch controllers (PCBs) contain delicate electronic components and must be handled with care. Improper handling can lead to electrostatic discharge (ESD) damage or physical failure.

Do Not Touch Active Areas

Never touch the upper or lower surfaces of the touch controller.
These areas contain sensitive electronics that can be damaged by static electricity from your fingers or tools.

Only handle the controller by its outer edges and avoid all contact with components and circuits.

Anti-Static Precautions

To prevent ESD damage, observe these anti-static safety practices:

  • Select a suitable workspace — avoid carpeted areas, especially in dry environments.

  • Wear an anti-static wrist strap when working with electronic components.

  • Ensure your hands and tools are grounded before handling the PCB.

  • Store or carry components in anti-static bags.

  • Avoid unnecessary contact with connectors, terminals, and other sensitive parts.

Cable Handling Guidelines

  • Take care when connecting or disconnecting cables — avoid excessive force or bending.

  • Inspect cables for damage; a pinched or broken cable can cause shorts or signal loss.

  • When installing Flexible Flat Cables (FFC):

    • Route them away from sharp edges or hinges.

    • Ensure they are not pinched by system components.

    • Always align connector pins carefully before insertion.

    • When disconnecting, release the strain-relief clip first, then remove the cable.

Assembly and Disassembly

  • Do not disassemble parts unless specifically instructed.
  • Always follow the official installation procedure to avoid damaging components or misaligning parts.
