RS232 Daisy-Chain Connection Instructions

DISPLAX TILE units can be daisy-chained via RS232 connection using RJ45 cables.

This connection is required when configuring and merging TILE units using the internal videowall processor and VIDEOWALL CONTROL V.4.0 software.

Required Components

  • RJ45 cables

  • RJ45-to-RS232 adapter (included with each TILE)

  • PC with COM port

If your PC does not have a native COM port:

  • Use a USB-to-RS232 adapter

Connection Procedure

1️⃣ Connect the First TILE to the PC

  • Use an RJ45 cable from the TILE RS232 port

  • Connect it to the supplied RJ45-to-RS232 adapter

  • Connect the adapter to the PC COM port

If using a USB-to-RS232 adapter, connect it to a USB port on the PC.

2️⃣ Daisy-Chain the Remaining TILE Units

  • Connect an RJ45 cable from the RS232 OUT port of the first TILE

  • Connect it to the RS232 IN port of the next TILE

  • Repeat this process for all remaining TILE units

  • There's no limitation for the number of daisy-chained Tile units

Important Notes

  • Ensure all TILE units are powered ON

  • Verify all RJ45 connectors are securely inserted

  • Avoid excessive cable bending or tension

  • Use high-quality RJ45 cables for stable communication
