Protective Layer

Protective Layer

How to peel off the protective layer from the touch sensor?

Before beginning lamination, the protective layer on the adhesive side of the Displax touch sensor must be carefully removed. This layer prevents contamination and damage during handling and must be peeled off with care.

Step 1 – Prepare the Lamination Wall

  • Spray water evenly on the lamination wall surface (Fig. 6)

  • This helps the sensor temporarily adhere to the wall, making the next steps easier

Step 2 – Place the Sensor

  • Hold the touch sensor by its edges

  • Press it against the wall, with the protective layer facing out toward you

  • The “QA APPROVED” label identifies which layer should be removed

Step 3 – Peel Off the Protective Layer

  • Wet your fingers with water

  • Begin peeling at the “QA APPROVED” tab (Fig. 9)

  • While peeling, continuously spray water to prevent leaving fingerprints or marks (Fig. 10)

Important technique:

  • Peel slowly and close to the sensor’s surface

  • Avoid pulling upward — this prevents lifting or bending the sensor grid
